In Win, Lose or Die, Bond is doing all right up until around half-way, that’s where he starts missing things and essentially, he doesn’t do a whole hell of a lot to help the women always end up saving him and especially in the ending as well – where it was a bit weak, in my opinion.

I would call this book one of the best after Icebreaker though. Summary. Wanting only to win or die, Turnus demands that the terms of single combat with Aeneas be set.

The next morning both armies line up and people watch from Latium's walls to see the fight. Still defying Fate, Juno urges Turnus's sister, Juturna, to save him from death. Making offerings before the duel, Aeneas vows to deal honorably with the Italians, win or lose.

Although it gets off to a slow start, I would have to say that (so far) "Win, Lose or Die" is arguably a highlight of the Gardner books.

It is also the only one that I feel could actually work as a Bond film. The characters are a bit more respectable than most of Gardner's creations, especially his usual cookie-cutter villains.just to survive the game of life, win or lose do or die, refuse to let you capture me to kill my will to survive the game of life, win or lose, do or die [Chorus (Johnny P):] [2X] Whether we win or lose this life to do or die but sometimes we lose the will to win and wonder why [DMG:] Open my hands like a book years and years me and my notebook.Whether we win or lose this life to do or die But sometimes we lose the will to win and wonder why.
